SVFF Vision Award, Honoring Gwyneth Paltrow by Meg Vorm

The Vision Award is presented annually to an artist and visionary whose creative body of work carves out an exceptional place in the media landscape. It’s hard to find anyone who fits this bill better than Paltrow. For a short list of her accomplishments: in 1998, she starred in the film Shakespeare in Love, earning her Best Actress at the Golden Globes®, Screen Actors Guild Awards®, and Academy Awards®. In 2011, she won an Emmy® for Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for playing substitute teacher Holly Holiday on Glee, and her song, “Coming Home,” from the soundtrack for Country Strong, was nominated for an Oscar®. Other notable film credits include Proof (for which she received a Golden Globe® nomination), Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums, Anthony Minghella’s The Talented Mr. Ripley, David Fincher’s Seven, Alfonso Cuarón’s Great Expectations, Douglas McGrath’s Emma, Sliding Doors, and Marvel’s Iron Man franchise.
