If you live in Sun Valley, Idaho, you would be hard-pressed not to know the name Rebecca Rusch. Rusch is one of the top female mountain bikers in the world. She is called the Queen of Pain because she is an endurance athlete like no other and that includes men. I met Rusch while she was finishing her film Blood Road. She was scoping out the film festival scene and asked me about Sundance. As I got to know her and her life goals, I realized how multi-faceted and incredibly interesting she was as an athlete, but also as a human being—not to mention her intense instinct for survival.
