According to Gary and Melissa Lipton, owners of Lipton Fine Arts, “The importance of American Arts and Crafts ceramics is celebrating pottery as art.” Gary Lipton has been a fine arts collector since he bought his first piece at the young age of 18. Decades later, his eclectic and important collection includes modern masters such as Jim Dine, Joan Miro, Milton Avery, Alexander Calder, Robert Motherwell, Saul Steinberg, Jean Dubuffet, and Marc Chagall.
