From performing as a nightclub jam band to playing with Blues Traveller and Fred Wesley (trombone player for James Brown), through band breakups and shakeups, writing songs or rolling with the punches, Object Heavy has both been and seen many things in its short existence. But that go-with-the-flow mentality is one usually prevalent in bands like Object Heavy that take soul, funk, and hip hop and can play with any band to any tune. The band brings their self-proclaimed “neo soul funk project” to Whiskey Jacques September 23.
