Sun Valley Tour de Force

The fifth annual Sun Valley Tour de Force on July 21-23, 2022 is a weekend of epic proportions for car lovers of all ages. Over the course of three days six+ events take place. The signature event of the weekend is the high the NO SPEED LIMIT high speed runs at Phantom Hill. Located in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, 3.2 miles of state highway becomes a no-speed limit zone. For one day only, drivers are allowed to put their machines to the ultimate test. In 2019, all previously recorded speed records were broken when a Bugatti Chiron hit 253.01mph. This is truly an experience of a lifetime. Additional weekend events include a downtown car show, leisure mountain drives, hosted sponsor events and evening activities.

Mission:
Sun Valley Tour de Force is produced by Intrepid Events, Inc.  – a 501(c)(3) non profit organization (EIN 82-4422113) . Intrepid Events Inc, dba Sun Valley Tour de Force,  is run by Co-Directors Maya Blix and Whitney Werth Slade and aims to create unique events that engage visitors and locals and raise funds to support local charities making a difference in the community. Sun Valley Tour de Force is the first event launched by this organization.

Beneficiary:
The local 501(c) non profit organization, The Hunger Coalition, has been selected as SVTdF’s non profit partner for 2021 and 2022.

The Hunger Coalition (THC) currently serves 28% of the county – about 6,500 people, half of whom are children- and manages over ten food-related programs including a food pantry, community farm and garden, and children’s food programs. While the organization is currently serving over 1 in 4 local people, studies show that 1 in 2 are considered food insecure or one crisis away. In order to close this gap and double the number of people it serves, THC recently renovated Bloom Community Food Center, tripling its size and providing more stigma-free opportunities for locals to access food. The updated facility and expanded farm serves as a platform for their community kitchen, heated greenhouses, partner collaboration space, and a next gen food pantry. With all these new plans in place, this partnership comes at an essential time for the organization.
