Before I even moved into my home in 2010, I was making plans for renovations and redesigns. The list included rebuilding the kitchen counters, completely redoing the fireplace surround, building a patio, and painting every square inch of wall space. I’m a handy person who loves a good challenge, and I was determined to do many of the projects myself. Friends and family who live in bigger cities balked at my plans. You don’t even have a Home Depot or Lowes nearby, they said. I ignored their protests and headed to Idaho Lumber in Hailey, determined to tackle my projects head-on.
